Chatt & Paan Reviews

A must for all your samosa and patties cravings! Surprisingly I have never had any chaat from here, but I am a regular for the samosas and patties. I have come here with my brother and we played table tennis, but I do agree with the below review, haven't seen any women here! Fear not, everyone inside is friendly!

If Afkham experienced cultural shock, what about me? They had never seen a Chinese dude here. Really, there are only dudes here. I have been here enough, I've never seen a dudad at Chatt 'n Paan. I didn't know this store exist. I often come to Mattress World next door. I could never understand why the food pictures on the windows extended so far into neighboring store. My first time here was when I wanted to make a left turn to Gandhi District. But the traffic congestion on the left lanes forced me to turn right. I had no way of making a U-trurn, but left turn into the parking lot. Like other reviewer said, lots of cab drivers. I'm not familiar with their custom. But parking required patience. It is a pool hall with 5 pool tables covered majority of floor space. Only 6 tables surrounding them. The food service is why I'm here. The staff was friendly. I think they're experiencing cultural shock more than me. I'm only here for samosas. For those of you who know me, I try anything edible. But not sure why egg rolls taking up space in the warmer. Veggie samosa has full of flavor and filled with potato. Beef samosas (little ones) are my favorite. I ask for sauce to go with them. The white sauce was better than the orange one. The spicy sensation sneaked into my sinus. I'll get the white sauce next time.

Years ago I happened to stop by this joint and good lord what a cultural shock that was! Needless to say I was not ready for it. It was only chaat and paan by name, but all they literally offered was just paan and international calling cards with some pool tables around. But. Today it truly is an authentic Chaat and Paan. They renovated the place, they have a functional kitchen now and also offer some awesome portable food choices like egg and paratha or chicken and paratha rolls and lots of samosas and of course the chicken patties. Let's talk about the chicken patties. No. It is NOTHING like a beef patty in a burger. What it is is spicy chicken chunks shredded and baked in this amazing buttery and flakey puff pastry. Wait a minute. IT'S A PAKISTANI CHICKEN FRIAND! I rock. I haven't tried thier chaat yet but I really enjoyed the rolls and the chicken patties and I ate like 10 samosas on my way to work so yeah its good AF. Now, not that I have anything against cabbies but at this spot they are starers. I don't know why, but they stare. And I'm a guy. My aunt has told me that when she goes she feels a little awkward too so I would recommend wearing sunglasses and a hat? There is also an Indo-Pak restaurant next door and a desi grocery store if you wanna pick up some vatika hair oil for $3 that whole foods sells for $10 a bottle. Just saying.

I enjoy playing chess and table-tennis. Found this place through google maps. Good: Membership is only $10/month, non-members can play as well, hot tea (chai) was awesome, and snacks were cheap. Bad: Some guys were smoking inside, even though no-smoking signs are everywhere. Only guys, and no girls to be found.

It's true, this appears to be an old hangout for older men. Don't be alarmed! I came on a slow day and there was a small group inside. The owner was very nice. I had the chai which was nice and very strong, the chicken patty is really great, buttery and flaky. Would return for the chicken patties.
